Who we are
Prima Parties is a children's party and character entertainment business based in Brighouse, West Yorkshire. We are the "controller" of the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide how it is used.
You can contact us about anything in this policy at info@primaparties.co.uk.
Information we collect
When you send an enquiry, we collect the details you enter on our form: your name, email address and phone number, your event date, start time, venue or postcode, the package and characters you're interested in, the number of children, the birthday child's age, how you heard about us, your message and whether you'd like a call back.
When you book, we also keep a record of your booking, the payments you've made and our messages with you.
Children's information: we only ask for what helps us plan a great party, such as the birthday child's name and age. Please don't send us more than we need.
We don't collect your card details. Payments are made by bank transfer or through a secure payment provider, which handles your card details directly.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and send you a quote. You give your consent when you submit the form, and it's also a step towards a contract with you.
- To deliver your booking: planning the party, sending confirmations and sharing the details our performers need on the day. This is necessary for our contract with you.
- To keep business and tax records, as the law requires.
- To run and improve our business, for example asking how your party went. This is in our legitimate interests, and you can tell us to stop at any time.
- To understand how our website is used, through Google Analytics, but only if you agree to analytics cookies. See Cookies below.
We will never sell or rent your personal information, and we won't send you marketing emails unless you've asked us to.
Who we share it with
We only share your information when we need to, and only what's necessary:
- Our performers, who need your event details to attend your party.
- Service providers who help us run the business, such as our website host, email provider and payment provider. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
- Google, which provides Google Analytics, if you accept analytics cookies. Google may process this data outside the UK, including in the USA, with safeguards in place that are recognised under UK data protection law.
- Authorities such as HMRC, where the law requires it.
Photos at events
We love sharing the magic of our parties. We will only post photos or videos that show children on our website or social media with permission from the parent or guardian. If you'd like a photo removed, email us and we'll take it down.
How long we keep it
If your enquiry doesn't become a booking, we delete your details within 12 months. Booking and payment records are kept for 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, because the law requires us to keep business records.
Keeping it safe
We take sensible steps to protect your information, including secure, password-protected accounts and a website that uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Only people who need your details to plan or deliver your booking can see them.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that's wrong
- ask us to delete your information
- object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it
To use any of these rights, email info@primaparties.co.uk. We'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device so it can remember information between pages or visits. We use two kinds.
Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working and secure, let our team log in to manage it, and remember your cookie choices. The site can't work properly without them, so they don't need your consent.
Analytics cookies come from Google Analytics. They help us understand how people find and use our website, such as which pages are popular and whether our pages work well on phones, so we can improve it. Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, your approximate location (town or region), and the type of device and browser you use. It does not tell us who you are, and we don't use it for advertising.
We only set analytics cookies if you click "Accept" on our cookie banner. If you choose "Reject", or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are used and the site works just the same. You can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
| Cookie | Type and purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Cookie consent | Necessary. Remembers whether you accepted or rejected cookies. | Up to 12 months |
| _ga | Analytics (Google). Tells visits apart so we can count visitors. | 2 years |
| _ga_<ID> | Analytics (Google). Keeps track of your current visit. | 2 years |
We keep Google Analytics data for 14 months, after which it is deleted automatically. You can read how Google uses this information at policies.google.com, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Managing cookies in your browser: you can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working properly.
Our pages link to our Facebook, Instagram and TikTok accounts. Those sites set their own cookies and have their own privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
